BART J. CAMP

   On the morning of Wednesday, March 23rd, 2016, Bart James Camp of Athens passed away unexpectedly at Robert Packer Hospital following a brief illness.  He was 41 years of age.  Born March 18th, 1975 in Elmira, he was the son of William and Kandace (Corson) Camp.  During his working life Bart had been employed by Eckert Pharmaceuticals and by Citibank, who offered him a position in London, England.  However, Bart declined the offer, preferring to remain in the U. S.  where he could look after his parents.  He was their primary caregiver until their passing.   In more recent years he tended bar at the Tamarack  Tavern in Troy.  Bart enjoyed gardening and hiking in the great outdoors.  He enjoyed spending time with family, especially during the holidays.   With a cheerful smile and friendly demeanor, Bart always strode through life with a positive attitude. 

  He is survived by his partner, Shawn Brown, at home, brothers Brett (& Jennie) Camp and Bryan  (& Jennifer) Camp, all of Houston, TX,  uncle Richard (& Linda) Corson and aunt Kitty Corson (& Tim Richards), all of Elmira, and uncle Mike Camp of Columbia Cross Roads, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his father, William, in 2014 and his mother, Kandace, in 2015.   In accordance with the family’s wishes, there are no calling hours, and a service of remembrance  will be held at a later date.
