MARY ALICE SPENCER

On November 19, 2023, Mary Alice Spencer of Gillett passed away peacefully at the home of her caregivers, Kevin and Kari Fitzwater. She was 66 years of age. Born February 1, 2023 in Sayre, Pa., she was the daughter of Willard and Martha (Barrow) Spencer. Mary attended the Ogdensburg Church of Christ with her parents for forty-four years. She especially enjoyed the music and the singing of hymns. For the last twenty-two years Mary was under the care of Martha Lloyd Services where she had special caregivers Shelly Walcheski and Kari Fitzwater , She enjoyed dancing and riding horses at Rainbow Riders in Troy. She loved children and helped out at several area daycare centers. She enjoyed learning new things and participating in activities at the Copper Tree in Troy. One of her favorite things was eating out and having hot fudge sundaes. Her smile and special laugh will be missed by all who knew her.

Mary is survived by her brother, Erwin (& Dianne) Spencer, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents her parents Mary was predeceased by her brother Willard Spencer Jr., and sister Carol Spencer Brown.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, November 27 at Morse and Kleese Funeral Home, 94 N. Center Street Canton. Service will follow at 11 with Pastor Charles Thomas officiating.(morseandkleesefuneralhome.com)
