Cassin James Diggs, 34, of Williamsport passed away May 10th, 2020 at the Williamsport Hospital following a brief illness. He was the son of David and April Stewart, both of this city. He also leaves behind a wife, the former Sonya Sweeting and son Cassin Jay, also of the city. Cassin gaduated from the Williamsport Area High School in 2003, where he had been a member of the Varsity Basketball team. After graduating he played for one prep school and four colleges. He completed one post graduate year at Bridgton Academy in Maine in 2004. He then attended I.M.G. Academy in Floridan 2005. After leaving I. M. G. Academy he attended Cloud County College, Kansas and earned an Associate's degree in 2006. He played basketball for the University of Pittsburgh 2007-2008, and Bowie State in Maryland, 2009.
Cassin, also known as “Big Homie,” worked as a heavy equipment operator in the local energy industry. He was a fun loving young man with a big heart. He was a loving husband, father and a great provider. He loved playing basketball and fishing with his son. He also enjoyed video games and caring for his two dogs Cassin will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He also leaves behind a brother, Kenneth, of Michigan, a sister, Brittney Stewart, city, grandmother Bessie Smith, city, in-laws Vincent and Crystal Sweeting also of this city and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. Plans for a memorial service will be made upon the cessation of the Covid-19 pandemic
