Norma Louise (Benson) Spencer

NORMA L. SPENCER

   On the morning of December 19^th, 2018, Norma Louise (Benson) Spencer of Troy went home to be with the Lord  after a courageous battle with a debilitating illness.  She was 59 years of age.  Born in Blossburg on October 10^th, 1959, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Gertrude (Burguess) Benson.   She was also the widow of the late Shawn Spencer, with whom she raised four children.   Throughout her adult life Norma worked as a home healthcare aid, a testimony to her loving and giving nature.   She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed nothing more than being with her family.  Norma was also a woman of faith, and enjoyed worshipping at Victory Church in Troy.

   She is survived by her sons  Ronald (& Samantha) Croft of Albion, NY, David (& Shaylee) Spencer of Sayre, daughters Melissa (& Brad) Chilson of Rome, Pa.,  and Shelby Spencer of Troy, brothers Harold (& Sherry) Jacobis of Webster, NY, Robert Benson of Mainesburg, Pa., sisters Dorothy Brotzman of Towanda,  Eunice (& Richard) Spencer of Columbia Cross Roads, Martha Spencer of Troy,  nine grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins, and special caregiver cousin Rick Burguess.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert & Gertrude Benson, husband Shawn Spencer and brother Billy Jacobis.

  Visitation will be Wednesday, December 26^th  at 10 AM.  A celebration of her life will be held at 11 AM at the Morse & Kleese Funeral Home, 94 N. Center St., Canton.  Interment will follow in Bradford County Memorial Park.   (morseandkleesefuneralhome.com)
