NAYLAND D. RINKER
On the evening of Tuesday, May 22nd, 2018 Nayland Douglas Rinker of Gillett passed away quietly at Robert Packer Hospital. He was 86 years of age. Born January 7th, 1932 in Laureldale, Berks County, Pa., he was the son of Harold John Lincoln Rinker and Dorothy Graybill Rinker. Nayland was a graduate of Oley Valley High School and served our country in the United States Army attached to the 66th Armor Division. Throughout most of his working life Nayland was a truck driver for a construction firm. In 1981 he relocated to Bradford County. However, he continued to work up until the age of 80. He loved his pets, enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, gardening and basically anything associated with outdoor activities. He loved the beauty of his adopted community and the close relationship with his family. He was the kind of person who made friends easily and was well known for his great sense of humor.
Nayland is survived by his sons Jeff (& Tess) Rinker of Fleetwood Pa., Randall (& Gloria) Rinker of Pottsville, daughters Monica Hess of Reading and Sherry McNamee of Trout Run, sister Nancy Toms of Troy, 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Dorothy Rinker.
