Lavonne Marie (Russell) Vroman

LAVONNE M. VROMAN

       On the evening of Monday, November 6^th, 2017, Lavonne Marie (Russell) Vroman  of Ralston passed away quietly at her residence. She was 83 years of age.  Born July 12^th, 1934 in Lewis Township, Lycoming County, Pa., she was the daughter of John and Mildred (Stryker) Russell.   Lavonne was an avid New England Patriots fan, having followed the team since its beginning.  She had been an accomplished bowler in previous years and was part of a championship team in the early 1970’s.   Lavonne enjoyed singing along with the radio or phonograph, especially while working around the house and she loved to cook and bake for her family. She was also fond of Polka dancing.   Lavonne was a loving and devoted mother who enjoyed spending time in the outdoors.  There she taught her children to swim and to appreciate nature.  She loved the changing of the seasons, especially fall and spring, and from her home nestled among the trees on the hillside she enjoyed a front row view of God’s creative beauty.

  Lavonne is survived by her sons, James Vroman of Ark., Archie (& Cindy) Vroman of Canton, Terry Vroman of Trout Run, Douglas Vroman of Ralston, Wayne Vroman of Ark. And Michael (& Jeanette) Vroman of IL., daughters Cheryl Staton of Williamsport and Hazel (& Thomas) Wilger of IL,  sister Peg Forer of Liberty, 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie W. Vroman, as well as several brothers and sisters.    In accordance with Lavonne’s expressed wishes there will be no public viewing or service.  (morseandkleesefuneralhome.com)
