Joseph W. Walburn
On the evening of March 29, 2019, Joseph William Walburn, of Austinville, passed away at his residence with his Wife, Mary and son Jerry by his side. He was 75 years of age. Born in Sayre on March 14, 1944 he was the son of Guy F. and Catherine (Gardner)Walburn. Joe was a man familiar with hard work. For many years he worked as a farmer and later worked at Swayze's and the old Burial Vault Company that used to be in Canton, and also built ribstone silos. In 1965 he served with the United States Army. He was married to the former Mary Porter and last September 5th they celebrated their 25 anniversary. He was also a man who knew the Lord and was a member of the Calvary Alliance Church in Canton. Joe was a soft spoken, easy going man who made friends easily and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife Mary, at home, sons Jonathan of Virginia, Joe of Troy, Jerry of Troy, daughters Lisa Huffman of Erie, Pennsylvania, Jenny Smith of Sayre and Wendy Moore of Georgia, brother James Walburn of Canton, sister Susie Vanness of Athens, Grandchildren Dillon, Brian, Anthony, Chelsee, Becca and Mikayla. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Guy Walburn and David Gardner, granddaughter, Samantha Jo, sister-in-law Mabel Roupp, brothers-in-law Allen Roupp, Butch Porter, Deanie Porter, Dawson Porter, Charles Porter, sister-in-law Connie and her husband Kenny Stillwell. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 2, 2019, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. At Morse & Kleese Funeral Home, 94 N. Center St., Canton, service to follow at 2:00 p.m. With Pastor John Ishler officiating.
