George Crofut Merrick

GEORGE C. MERRICK

  On the evening of Thursday, June 1^ST, 2017, the Lord called home George Crofut Merrick while he was at the Troy Community Hospital.  He was 75 years of age.   Born May 11^TH, 1942 in Williamsport, he was the son of the late Luther and the late Ruth (Crofut) Merrick.    Throughout most of his adult life George was a farm worker, but in his free time he created beautiful rag rugs, many of which were given as gifts to family and friends.  He was a big hearted man whose friendly smile and demeanor  could light up the room. 

    George is survived by his numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Viewing will be Monday June 5^TH, from 1 until 2 PM at Morse and Kleese Funeral Home, 94 N. Center Street, Canton.  A celebration of his life will be held at 2 PM.  Interment will follow in Beech Flats Cemetery.
