Anne (Schanbacher) Lodge

            ANNE LODGE

During the early morning hours of Sunday, June 25^th, 2017, Anne (Schanbacher) Lodge, a lifelong resident of Grover, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus while at the Towanda Skilled Nursing Unit.  She was 82 years of age.  Born in Grover on August 17^th, 1934 she was the daughter of Charles and Edith (Fields) Schanbacher.   Anne was a retiree of the Paper Magic Co. in Troy where she had served as Customer Service manager. She was the widow of the late John Lodge with whom she raised a son and daughter.  Her pride and joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.   Upon graduation from high school each grandchild was taken by Anne  on a trip anywhere in the world.   She was also a woman with a deep, abiding faith in the Lord, and was a lifelong faithful member of St. John’s United Methodist Church in Grover.  Over the years Anne was faced with various physical challenges and health issues, but she found strength to see them through  in the words of Philippians 4:13, a Scripture verse by which she lived: “I can do all things through Christ, which strengtheneth me.”   

    Anne is survived by her son, John (& Carol) Lodge of Montrose, Pa., daughter Judy (& Jeff) Bouey  of Frederick, MD, grandchildren Jason (& Jennifer) Lodge, Joshua (& Kaitlyn) Lodge, Jonathan (& Loren) Lodge,  Lara (& Bryan) Northup and Michael (& Samantha) Bouey, great-grandchildren Carter Lodge, Grayson Lodge and Jackson Northup, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.   She was preceded in death by parents Charles and Edith Shanbacher, husband John Lodge, and brothers Fred and Charles Schanbacher.

   Calling hours will be 6 to 8 PM Wednesday, June 28^th,  at Morse & Kleese Funeral Home, Inc., 94 N. Center St., Canton.  A celebration of Anne’s life will take place at St. John’s United Methodist Church in Grove Thursday the 29^th at 11 AM.  Interment will follow in Grover Cemetery.  The family suggests that memorial contributions be directed to St. John’s United Methodist Church, Grover, Pa. 17735.  (morseandkleesefuneralhome.com)
