Valerie M Benjamin (Bailey) passed at home with family after a long battle with cancer on September 6th, 2018 in Troy, Pa at the age of 69

Valerie is survived by daughter Laurie (Benjamin) Brown and son in law Michael Brown of Columbia Cross Roads, Pa, Son John B Benjamin Jr of Gillett, Pa, Daughter Tressa (Benjamin) Brown of Gillett, Pa. Grandchildren Maureen House (Michael Putnam) of Troy, Pa, Bryant House of Columbia Crossroads, Kody Benjamin (Mikayla Bristol) of Troy, Pa., Chase Brown (Kendra Lathrop) of Gillett, Pa, Kendra Benjamin(Wesley Utter) of Gillett, Pa, Aaren Brown of Columbia Cross Roads, Pa. Great granddaughter Aubrey Greene. Sister Marcia Larson of Durango, CO, neice Tina Garrison Maier of Lewisburg, Pa. , loved as a daughter Sherri Newman of Rome, Pa and Angela Martin of Troy, Pa. she is preceded in death by Husband John B Benjamin Sr, Mother Mary Josephine Bailey of East Troy, Pa, Brother Robert Bailey of Troy, Pa, Special Aunt Jessie Hawthorne and Uncle Robert Hawthorne of Canton, pa. And beloved dog Benji

Valerie was born on January 11, 1949 in Troy, Pa to Mary Josephine Bailey. She worked for Paper Magic group for close to 30 years until it closed. At that time she finished her GED and continued her education as Medical Office Technician in 2008. Later employment at Troy Community Hospital/Guthrie Hospital in Troy in outpatient registration and business office.

Valerie was a caring, selfless individual who loved helping others and who was passionate about work and her family. Always a smile on her face no matter what she was going through. She helped anyone she could. She was an active and dedicated member of the Victory Church and had volunteered at Troy Food Pantry.

A viewing is scheduled Monday, September 10th, from 3 to 5 pm at Victory Church 645 E Main St, Troy, PA 16947 with a funeral to follow at 5 pm. Funeral arrangements by Morse & Kleese Funeral Home Inc 94 N Center St, Canton, PA 17724 Private Burial at a later time All are welcome to attend and celebrate Valerie’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Victory Church at 645 E Main St, Troy, PA 16947 or the local SPCA. The family would like to thank Cindy Smith and Guthrie/ Towanda hospital staff for their special care when she was in need.
