Barbara Jane (Laudenslager) Slingerland

Barbara Jane Laudenslager Slingerland, who turned 75 years old on March 8th, 2018, passed away on

April 2nd, 2018, at the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA, follows a brief illness. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Barbara was born in Blossburg, PA, to Charles and Florence Bianchi Laudenslager on March 8th, 1943. Barbara went to school at Canton, PA. She married Robert L. Slingerland on May 18th, 1962. She was employed at American Silk Label, Troy, PA, and later, Paper Magic, Troy, PA, where she retired from. Barbara enjoyed flowers and gardening, hummingbirds, making cakes, quilting, NASCAR and going to the casino. She was most happy spending her time with her husband, family and grandchildren.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 55 years, Robert L. Slingerland, her children, Judy Streby and husband, Jeff Streby; Ronny Slingerland and his significant other, Linda J. Garrison; and Shelva Baldwin and husband, Daniel Rea; sisters and brothers-in-law, Rose and Donnie Shadduck and Ruth and Greg Chandler, sisters Nettie Morgan and Esther Smith, and brother and sister-in-law Paul Laudenslager and his wife, Amanda; grandchildren Mandy Manley, Tammy Ramos and her husband, George; Jackie Eichenberger and her husband, Brett; Eric Simcoe, Cassie Slingerland, Julie Hamberger and her husband, Keenan and their soon-to-be baby boy; Jay Baldwin and his significant other, Bryanna Zurn, Miranda Baldwin, as well as several great grandchildren.

Barbara is preceded in death by her father, Charles, her mother, Florence, several sisters and brothers, a sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, and her precious grandson, Robby L. Slingerland.

At Barbara’s request, there will be no calling hours or services. A candle may be lit to honor Barbara’s life at morseandkleesefuneralhome.com. Burial will be private at Glenwood Cemetery, Troy, PA. Arrangements are by Morse and Kleese Funeral Home, Canton, PA.
