RUTH  LUND

   On the evening of Saturday, May 23^rd, 2015, Ruth (Dull) Lund of Forksville, Pa.,(formerly of Hatfield) passed away quietly at Darway Elder Care in Forksville.  She was 85 years of age.  Born October 21^st, 1928 in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of John and Florence (Menzel) Dull.  As a youngster she assisted in her family’s produce store in Ambler, as well as on her father’s huckster truck.   Ruth graduated from Ambler High School with the class of 1948.  She was the widow of the late Raymond Lund, with whom she raised two sons.  She also worked for several years with Trehab, a local community service organization.   Ruth was blessed with the gift of musical talent and had played trumpet with Ambler High School’s band.  In later years she would apply that talent to somewhat less conventional musical instruments, delighting throngs of listeners.  Ruth’s musical proficiency included the playing of hand bells, water glasses, spoons, bones and musical saws.  She was featured in Penn Lines magazine in December of 1997.   For over 35 years she performed at county fairs, birthday parties, weddings, senior citizen centers and political events, up to and including Christmas parties this past December. 

  Surviving are her sons, Bob and John, and sisters Charlotte of Skippack and Dorothy of Telford. 

     A graveside service will be held 11 AM  Monday, June 1^st at Ivy Hill Cemetery, 1201 Easton Rd., Philadelphia, Pa. with pastor Bill Hargenrader officiating.   Her life will be celebrated  12 noon Saturday, June 6^th at the Lincoln Falls Wesleyan Church, Rt 154, Lincoln falls, Pa.  Professional services have been entrusted to Morse & Kleese Funeral Home, Canton.   (morseandkleesefuneralhome.com)
