Mary A. (Shedden) Carney

MARY A. CARNEY

     On Sunday, December 27^th, 2915, Mary A. (Shedden) Carney of Troy  passed away quietly at Troy Community Hospital.  She was 73 years of age.    Born December 2^nd, 1942 in Windfall, Pa., she was the daughter of Harold J. and Evelyn (Walburn) Shedden.   Mary was a free spirited person who enjoyed the free-wheeling  life of a carnival worker, travelling from one county fair to the next.  Later she settled in Hoosick Falls ,NY, and worked several years as a bartender, where her quick sense of humor served her well.   Later she returned to Bradford County and resided in Troy.  Mary enjoyed a good game of Poker and scratching off lottery tickets.  She was also an avid NY Yankees fan.   She enjoyed the company of her family, to whom her delightful witticisms  always brought a smile.

       Mary is survived by her brother, Harold “Sonny” (& Rowena) Shedden of LeRoy,  sisters Beverly Jean Hamm of Troy and Barbara Joyce (& Charles) Wright of Tunkhannock, Pa., as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. 

Calling hours will be 6 to 8 PM Wednesday, December 30^th at Morse & Kleese Funeral Home, Inc., 94 N. Center Street, Canton.  Funeral service will be 11 AM Thursday with Pastor Jerry Schmidt officiating.  Interment will follow in Windfall, Cemetery.   (morseandkleesefuneralhome.com)
