LAWRENCE E. WARD

   On the morning of Saturday, August 15^th, 2015, Lawrence E. Ward of Towanda passed away quietly at the Memorial Hospital Skilled Nursing Center.  He was 70 years of age.  Born August 11^th, 1945 in Fayette, NY, he was the son of George and Agnes Ward.    Larry, as he was known to all, was one of God’s special people who, despite his limitations, lived a full life with the love and  guidance of family, friends and Futures Community Support  Services.  He enjoyed horses, bingo, bowling and participating in the Special Olympics.  Larry enjoyed a good, strong cup of coffee and dining at his two favorite eating establishments, McDonald’s and Vinnie’s Pizza in Troy.  He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed dishing out the occasional good-natured “ribbings”  whenever the situation arose.   He was a kind, gentle soul who always was ready to help.

   Larry is survived by his sisters Ruth McBride of Peoria AZ, Beverly Graves of Montrose, Pa. and Joyce Jessoe of Rancho Palo Verde, CA., as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.  A graveside service will be held 11AM Friday, August 21st at  Canoga Cemetery, Rt. 89,  Seneca Falls, NY.
