JEANNETTE  BURGUESS

        On the afternoon of Wednesday,  January 6^th, 2016, Jeannette (Stonebreaker) Burguess of Auburn, NY, formerly of Canton, Pa., passed away quietly at Auburn Community Hospital.  She was 78 years of age.  Born April 5^th, 1937 in Mansfield, Pa., she was the daughter of Alvin and Florence (Hilfiger) Stonebreaker.   She was the widow of the late Truman Burguess with whom she raised six children and  shared 56 years until his passing in 2009.    Jeannette was known as a hard worker throughout her life, and was  employed for many years in the housekeeping department of Bradford County Manor.  Never one to mince words, she was known for being honest and straight-forward, and you always knew where you stood with her.  She enjoyed flower gardening, cross stitching, her cats and being with her family.

  Surviving are her sons  Truman  Burguess, III (& wife Laurel) of Dubois, Pa., Col. A. Wayne (& Elizabeth) Burguess of Pinehurst, NC, Wesley (& Maria “Tego”) Burguess  of Dalton, Pa., Janice Burguess of Versailles, MO., Barbara (& James) Witczak of Bangor, Pa.,  Laurie (& Gregory) Hypes of Auburn, NY, brothers James Bradshaw of TX, Howard Stonebreaker of AL, grandchildren Brandy  (& Steve) Pettigrew of Canton, Pa., Crystal Putnam of Troy, Pa., Scott Burguess of Dalton, Pa., Christina Burguess of Pinehurst, NC, Allison Burguess of NC, Jessica  (Christopher) Baublitz of York, Pa.,  great-grandchildren Adam Workman, Vanessa Burguess of NC, Zack Pettigrew of Canton and Lane Stroud of Troy.  In addition to her husband, Truman, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amber Burguess.

  Calling hours will be from 1 to 3 PM Saturday, January 9^th at Morse & Kleese Funeral Home, 94 N. Center Street, Canton, with service at 3 PM officiated by Rev. Garry Zuber.  Interment will follow in East Canton Cemetery.
