On the evening of Sunday, February 22nd, 2015, former Canton resident Frank Disbrow passed away peacefully at the Highlands Care Center in Laporte with his beloved wife at his side.  He was 74 years of age.  Born June 14th, 1940 in North Bergen, N.J., he was one of ten children born to Edward Albert and Mary Christine (Jorgensen) Aymar.  After graduating high school Frank studied in Maryland to be a HVAC mechanic, as well as an electrician.  For seven years he served our country with the U.S. Army, including  service in Vietnam.  Frank was proud of his service and remained a patriot throughout his life, supporting as many veteran organizations as possible, and was often seen sporting a military cap.  He was an avid reader and enjoyed lively conversations on a host of topics.   Frank will always be remembered for his impish smile, familiar to all who knew him.  He also had a special fondness for his “Vermilya relatives” in Canton and enjoyed many hours visiting with them.  Frank, and his wife and companion of many years, Diane Vermilya Disbrow, celebrated their 18th anniversary on October 5th, 2014.  Through times of physical trials and struggles they always stuck together.

Surviving are his wife, Diane Vermilya Disbrow of Laporte, daughters Jeanette Ann Disbrow Stauffer (& husband Jack) and Ann Marie Disbrow Hopper (& Robert Hank),  son Edward Albert Disbrow, sisters Marie Kahn and Karen Brendlen, brothers Chicky, Bobby and George Aymar, sister-in-law Cindy (David) English, stepmother-in-law Mary Vermilya, grandchildren Cayla, Elizabeth, Christopher, Joshua, Nicholas, Haley and Logan, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.  In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by brothers Ed, Carl, Roger and Johnny Aymar, as well as his faithful feline companions, Cuddles, KeKe and Buttercup.

A graveside service will be held in April at Beech Flats Cemetery, Canton Township, at a date to be determined by the family.  Professional services have been entrusted to Morse & Kleese Funeral Home of Canton.
